We provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a variety of sports and orthopedic conditions, including, but not limited to: neck and back pain, pelvic girdle and SI joint pain, hip pain, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, ITB syndrome, shoulder pain and elbow pain. Evaluation consists of strength testing, range of motion testing, and functional movement screening, to help diagnose your injury and give you the road map to healing that injury. We believe in holistic and evidenced- based treatments, including manual therapy, dry needling, joint mobilization/manipulation, soft-tissue mobilization, exercise therapy, and other modalities. Our biggest goal is to determine the underlying cause of your pain/dysfunction and to give you the tools for healing, so that you can get back to living your most functional and fit lifestyle!

Emily Bohannan is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and is originally from Annapolis, Maryland. She attended the University of Virginia and graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine and a B.A. in Spanish literature in 2014. She then received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Masters in Anatomy from the top ranked DPT program in the country at University of Delaware in 2017.

As a former competitive athlete in lacrosse, Emily has always had a keen interest in anatomy, the biomechanics of movement, and performance optimization. This interest was the driving force that led her to pursue her degrees in kinesiology, physical therapy, and clinical anatomy. During her extensive independent study in anatomy, as part of her Master’s degree, she took a special interest in analyzing shoulder injuries sustained by overhead athletes, such as baseball and lacrosse players. Emily treats a wide variety of injuries and conditions, but her focus is in sports and orthopedics.

Emily has extensive experience in dry needling, including over 180 hours of in-person training, double certification from Synergistic Dry Needling and Myopain Seminars, and 6 years of clinical experience and dry needling application. Emily is also trained in shockwave therapy– a cutting edge regenerative treatment method.

Emily believes that evidenced-based medicine and patient education are the keys to successful rehab. She takes an integrative and holistic approach to injury rehabilitation, in order to get her patients back to living their most active and functional lifestyle. She seeks to educate and empower her patients, so that they can return to doing the things they love to do!
